Do you have time to spare? Would you like to gain new skills, meet new people, make great friends and make a difference to others? Why not get involved and volunteer?

Volunteering can help you do all of the above and so much more! You can benefit your community at the same time as you gain self confidence, meet new friends and learn new skills.

Volunteering can also help your employment prospects, providing you with much needed experience that future employers value. You may even find the inspiration for a career change.

There are a huge amount of volunteering opportunities available around the county, from small, local, organisations to large national charities. For example, Lincolnshire County Council has a large range of opportunities across their services, you can find out more here: www.lincolnshire.gov.uk/volunteering

Volunteer Centres

You can find out more about what’s on offer around the county by getting in touch with your local volunteer centre. There are two organisations operating Volunteer Centres around the county.

  • Lincolnshire Community and Voluntary Service, covering South Kesteven, South Holland, Boston Borough and East Lindsey.

Please visit www.lincolnshirecvs.org.uk for more information.

Your local volunteer centre will be able to provide you with advice on all things volunteering. They also have a database of current opportunities from around the county, whatever your interest they’re sure to have something that will interest you. The Volunteer Centre helps maintain a national database of opportunities, www.do-it.org.uk, so even if you are looking for something further afield they will be able to point you in the right direction.
